The development of MR-series and IR Series Protective Relays and
their introduction into the market has been stimulated by the recent
trend to replace the electromechanical and the static relays. The
microcontroller technology enables opening of new horizons of
performance in the field of relays and protection systems through the
digital processing of measured values and the ability to perform complex
arithmetic and logic operation. This gives the relays the performance
and flexibility unmanageable with static and electromechanical
counterparts.

Additional features in MR-Series Relays are multi function,
self-supervision, fault diagnosis through fault data recording, smaller
physical construction and selectable relay characteristics coupled with
very small burden allow the implementation of accurate and highly
reliable protection schemes.
With its IR series relays, from High-Tech Range, CSPC offers a
moderately priced version of its high quality protective relays. They
are suitable in principle for the same protective tasks, but with
display and serial interface omitted.
